Good Evening All-
It has been a while since I last posted a blog ( ok so I broke my new years resolution, but I did join the gym wahooo) Anyway, summer is slowly coming to an end and it has been such an amazing few months!
I spent 9 weeks interning for a really great company-DD's discounts (a division Ross). I spent those 9 weeks as a assistant buyer. It was such an incredible experience. I learned so much from everyone and I am so grateful for having that opportunity! I miss not being at work everyday! I also made a lot of amazing new friends along the journey.
So what to do with myself on my mini summer vacay before school starts..... Visiting the MET for the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibit was on the agenda! It was so beautifully done and executed. Once you enter the exhibit you are entranced by Schiaparelli and Prada's voices in their impossible conversation. ( Click on this link to hear it and see each of the different themes, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb1Rmxn2G5Q&feature=relmfu )
The clothes were breath taking. You can see the two designers distinct styles, but yet Miuccia was clearly influenced by Elsa! So I snagged some photos (shhh!) Don't judge they aren't that amazing. Here is a look of all my favorites! ( I so got yelled at just for taking a photo of a quote- opps! little did he know I had taken the photo already of the garment hehehe!)

Here are some accessories - can you guess who the designer is??? I am really coveting the middle and right necklaces! So beautiful! |
Although most of the clothes I enjoyed more were Schiaparelli's (loving that bow Elsa) :) “We had to be bold from the waist up. Up with the shoulders! Celebrate the bust!”
I really enjoyed Miuccia's take on fashion " I've never wanted to be an artist. I've never wanted to be called an artist. The term itself seems old-fashioned. It's a term that does not relate to modern times. And it's too confining . What I love about fashion is it's accessibility and it's democracy. Everyone wears it, and everyone relates to it."
If you haven't already seen it, GO ! GO ! GO ! GO ! It ends on August 19th- you don't want to miss it!
So, go and tell me who's aesthetic do you prefer more?
xoxo
