# 9 A New Fashion Show, A Presentation

Fashion shows aren't just models strutting down the runway in beautiful garments.
They are actual shows that have a story, they are thought out.
Most fashion shows don't last longer than 15 mins (depending on how many garments they showcase).
You see an eye catching dress go down the catwalk, and you wonder
what does that feel like? Does it stretch? I want to see it upclose!
Most of us don't get that experience until its in the stores.

A new form of "Fashion Shows" is on the rise
Fashion Presentations!
Where models stand in as mannequins and just wear the garments!
Guests can see the clothes up close and personal!

Rachel Roy did a Presentation outside of Lincoln Center
what more can you ask for beautiful clothes and beautiful weather!

Tory Burch also did a presentation at New York Fashion Week last September!
Instead of walking on the runway, the models stood to show off the garments!

Having a Presentation rather than a show allows the guests to really see each piece
from detail to stitch!
Fashion's show are iconic either way, maybe a new format to a show
could be to have a catwalk, then afterwards
let them stand on the runway!
You get the best of both worlds seeing how the clothes
move and see how they stand!

#8 Anya Hindmarch- "The Little Book"

I have recently stumbled upon a new accessory designer I am obsessed with ! Anya Hindmarch! My discovery came when I was working on some designer books for Scoop NYC - I am currently an intern there and I love it! I work hand in hand with the women's buyer to the accessory buyer. I have always had an obsession with accessories, but until I started at Scoop I wanted to work in women's clothing now I have changed fields again.

I decided to featured on my blog this week Anya's Look Book from Fall 2011- titles it "The Little Book". I don't only love Anya's designs because there is a bow on all her stuff (much to my happiness) her bags and shoes, gloves are so sophisticated, beautiful and feminine- what doesn't better describe a women than sparkle bows, fringe and some embellishments.

A better view of this is on her website- where you can actually flip the book!Anya Hindmarch- "The Little Book"  I love how she even describes in the book her inspiration for this collection. "For me this collection is all about refined detail, exquisite touches and clean, graphic lines. Taking inspiration from men's tailoring, we have focused on luxurious intricacies, contrasting textures and hand stitching."

The bags I covet from this season:

=(Christmas Present!!)

So what your Christmas Present this year?

# 7 A diffrent take on a Trunk Show!

This isn't your mom's Tupperware party,
Stella & Dot a jewelry company based in San Fran. Stella & Dot is exclusively through in-home trunk shows by independent stylists like you and me! Its a different take on a on trunk show, designers use this as a selling tool in order to get more sales and customers. Stella and Dot benefits job growth and lets their styles have full control. Its social and innovative! I can be hosting a trunk show for all my nearest and dearest friends and family, its personal service at best! Who better to tell you that looks great than a friend! It's also great for stay at home moms that either need another income or just want to have some fun!

This is how it works-
With the rise in social media and e-commerce what better way than to combine the two!

Stella & Dot also has a Student Entrepreneurs Program specialized for a college students!
I am going to look into this more it's really interesting! Interning at Scoop NYC and working hand in hand with the accessory buyer has made me realized that's what I want to focus on!  Its such a great way to earn income- going to school and interning, leaves me with little time to work. Stella & Dot could be a perfect option for me! The jewelry is also really beautiful!

#6 A Runway Show That I Could Never Forget

It was pretty much one of the best days of my life ( yes, I know so cliche, but it was !)
I volunteered for New York Fashion week- WOW! The feeling of getting to be there was something incredible and something someone interested in fashion should experience at least once! I worked with such amazing people, getting to know them, some were from other colleges and even people that go to my school- The Fashion Institute of Technology. The energy at a fashion show is so indescribable.

I choose to feature this video on my blog because it was my first fashion show, and I could never forget it! It was magical! So here is a look at last season's Prabal Gurung-
Parbal Gurung Spring/Summer 2011

Prabal Gurung's runway show was a few bold brights, and some whites for a blank canvas feel. Beautiful crepe silks draped the models.
Here of some pictures of my favorite looks from the show!

Prabal Gurung is my new favorite designer and this past runway show was even more beautiful than the last, just wish I was there to see it!
His focus this time was on this electric purple, and aqua.
The silhouettes are very flowy and feminine.

So what fashion show could you never forget?
